The RM1 coins will cease to be legal tender after midnight of December 6, 2005. So, those of you who have been thrifty and saving for the Christmas & New Year sales, watch out. Change your coins at your nearest bank before that.
But if you plan to be Kelantan on that date to watch the Pengkalan Pasir state constituency cast their votes to choose their new state assemblyman, be very careful. Change your coins much, much earlier.
Unless, of course, you plan to 'make-a-wish' throws in your local stream or unused wells...!!!
Yes, the last day of the RM1 coins acceptance and the polling day for the Pengkalan Pasir, Kelantan by-election is one and the same 6 December 2005.
One may ask: "Is this a co-incidence?" Or may be:"Is there a connection between the two events?"
